Chaos in Central Park

Kevin the janitor was franticly trying to figure out a way to pump up their raft.  Chaos was breaking out on the streets below as gunfire erupted.  David Steiner and his wife Patty had a plan.  They were too old to go with the multitude, and half way didn't believe it.  But they did believe it enough to get a white water raft and prepare for a massive tsunami.  They had a secret plan with Kevin to hide it on the roof. Their only mistake was relying on an electric air pump for the massive raft.  They had only 6 hours to pump it up before the tsunami hit.

Kevin wasn't that young either, a well built African American man in his early 50's.  "I am going down to get the pump out of my car." Kevin said.  "No!" Screamed Patty, an Italian American prone to hysterical fits, grabbing Kevin by his collar with both fists.  David said "calm down, think! He can cut the end off it and put in the plastic adapter, it should work.  We have no other choice Patty."

Patty lowered her head in resignation.

Next you see Kevin racing out of the stair well door with the pump.  He had already put the plastic tip on it and started pumping.  After about 20 minutes Kevin collapsed in exhaustion.  David said, "Kevin we need to grab a strong young guy and get him to come with us and pump this thing up, maybe two or three of them."

With a sudden burst of confidence Patty said, "OK, I can do it, I will go down there and get some guys to help us."

Kevin just lay there looking almost unconscious.

After only five or ten minutes you see three big strong Latino guys grab the pump and pump as if their life depended on it, cause it did.

Patty and David were now ready to complete their plan.  They had a tube of plastic and straps for Van Gogh Starry night and any thing else that they could get.  The Five Pink Ladies by Picasso had top priority.

Kevin woke from hibernation and said he would stay back to supervise their new friends.

The raft was pumped up and they still had 2 hours left.  Turns out these were drug dealers and they had 200,000 cash on them and weapons.  They had snorted their entire stash after Patty had propositioned them and were now strapped into the raft unconscious.

When the wave finally hit it was almost like a dream.  David tossed up his lunch as they cascaded toward the sea, an empty super tanker rolling down the continental shelf behind them making an incredible noise.
